The mission of EquusMediation.com is to give people involved in conflict the option of resolving their disputes in a peaceable mediation process BEFORE the situation escalates and requires litigation and costly legal battling. We mediate a wide range of equine related - issues including breed/discipline, contract/property, insurance/veterinarian, and employee/boarder disputes.

Practicing as a certified transformative mediator, Mary Sue McCarthy believes that “the parties know best” and the power to resolve disputes lies with the individuals in conflict. Even those embroiled in the nastiest fights have the innate capacity to decide for themselves and to ask for what they need. It can be scary and stressful to rely on an “outsider” like an arbitrator, master or judge to determine outcomes and orders.

Mary Sue believes that people in conflict benefit most from a neutral, attentive mediator committed to listening impartially and, holding the space for an honest, safe and equal exchange. Brainstorming and problem solving to get to resolution or agreement can indeed be part of the transformative mediation process but only if this is the direction both parties want to take!
